The Senators Home Opener is this Thursday, April 6
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and an Opportunity to Meet the Players
Harrisburg, PA - The days are getting warmer, the snow has melted and the smell of spring fills the air as City Island prepares for another season of baseball! The Harrisburg Senators Opening Night is this Thursday, April 6 at 7:00 p.m. against the Altoona Curve. The team is celebrating the start of the season with a jam-packed night of baseball, excitement and family fun!
The festivities begin with a special ribbon cutting ceremony at the front gate to signal the beginning of the Senators season. As the gates open throughout the ballpark at 5:45 p.m., the coaching staff and players are greeting fans until 6:00 p.m. Be sure to arrive early for your chance to shake hands with a player and see the ribbon cutting ceremony!
Another reason to arrive early is the first 1,500 fans ages 13 and older receive a free Senators hat. Youths that participate in sports (through high school) are encouraged to wear their uniform jerseys to the game. Those that do receive a free ticket and will be invited to be a part of the Senators team introduction.
Youths wearing uniform jerseys aren't the only fans that get in free, current members of the military and all veterans receive a free box seat ticket and their families can purchase a half-off box seat ticket. Dog lovers are welcome to bring their favorite four-legged friend to FNB field. The night is also the first of eleven Thirsty Thursdays with $2 Coors Light drafts on the boardwalk. Fans donating a full bag of clothing will once again this season park free on the island Thursday nights courtesy of Community Aid.
The fun does not stop when the final out is recorded either, as the team caps off the night's festivities with the first of fifteen-postgame firework shows that will light up the Central PA sky.
The Senators box office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available via telephone during the same hours as the box office hours. Tickets are also available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, online at www.senatorsbaseball.com. You can find the Senators on Facebook at facebook.com/senatorsbaseball or @hbgsenators on Twitter.
